Yo its Eddie,
I started Last Man Standing (LMS) Now Le Dernier Fils as an outlet to express my creativity. The brand is a combination of all of my creative passions, lumped into one. I love graphic designing, drawing, and creating clothes, and I felt it would be a shame to just keep my creativity locked away, I felt as though there's no better way to do all of those things that I love than with a clothing brand. With this brand, I wanted to be a reflection of who I am as a person,
In each piece that we drop, I aim to Showcase my persona, I’m the last son in a family of eight that moved to America from an East African country called Tanzania, growing up my parents wanted me to become a doctor, lawyer, or something along those lines but they also offered me some flexibility to pursue my creative side which they noticed at a young age. Among African households; they usually tend to have a fixed idea of what they want their kids to do for a living so it was a complete shock to me when my parents allowed me to pursue all of the creative paths that led me to create LMS.
I wouldn't consider myself a fashion designer. I'm just a creator who likes creating things in the moment for the moment, drawing from my life. From me to you is what Last Man Standing is all about. At the end of the day I'm just designing for myself to be honest and putting it out to whoever can relate to it. I want this brand to stand for as long as it can. Hopefully even after I'm gone, that would be the best way to pay back my parents for letting me go down this crazy road and I got one of my closest homies cooking up with me along the way, I don't know how I convinced him to do it but here we are.
Now stay tuned because we're about to be releasing some crazy pieces!

“Making a successful luxury brand in nine years is genius. It’s a feat that I admire and hope to continue building upon with a rich legacy. He revolutionised streetwear and luxury that crosses generations and decades. He showed the world that the underrepresented, the underdogs and Black people, in particular, have brilliant minds and can push and compete equally in the establishment. He inspired hope and brought about change.” - Ibrahim Kamara, Art&Image Director Off-White™
